Agreement and scope

These terms cover your use of the Agent Island desktop application for macOS and Windows, the source code published at github.com/tristan666666/agent-island, and this website. By installing, running, or copying the software you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not install or use it. They apply to the software as distributed by the project; a fork you modify is governed by whatever terms you attach to it, subject to the MIT license below.

License grant

The software is released under the MIT License. You may use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and sell copies of it, for any purpose including commercial, provided that the copyright notice and the permission notice are included in all copies or substantial portions. The full license text ships with the source and is reproduced on the license page. Nothing in these terms narrows the rights the MIT License grants you.

What the software is, and is not

Agent Island is a local status utility. It reads records that AI coding tools already write on your computer and displays state, quota, and estimated cost. It is not an AI service, not a proxy, and not a reseller of any provider's capacity. It does not generate model output, does not route your prompts, and does not sit between you and any provider's servers other than to read the same usage endpoints their own dashboards read, using credentials you already hold.

Third-party services and trademarks

Agent Island is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic (Claude, Claude Code), OpenAI (Codex, ChatGPT), Google (Antigravity, Antigravity), xAI (Grok), or Anysphere (Cursor). All product names, logos, and marks are the property of their respective owners and are used only to identify the tools this software works with. Your use of each of those tools remains governed by that provider's own terms and acceptable-use policies, and nothing here modifies them.

Your accounts and credentials

The software reads credentials that the providers' own command-line tools or applications have stored on your machine — for example the macOS keychain entry written by Claude Code, or the local auth files written by Codex, Antigravity, Grok CLI, and Cursor. You are responsible for holding valid accounts, for complying with each provider's terms, and for the consequences of any action taken with those credentials. Do not use the software with credentials you are not authorized to use.

Accuracy of numbers

Quota percentages and reset times are reported by each provider's own endpoint and are shown as received. Token totals, estimated API value, and cost figures are computed locally from public per-token pricing and are estimates only. They are not invoices, not billing records, and not a prediction of what any provider will charge you. Where a provider's official figure is available it is displayed alongside the local estimate rather than replacing it. Do not rely on these numbers for accounting, tax, or contractual purposes.

Availability and changes

This is an independent open-source project maintained without a service-level commitment. Features may change or be removed, releases may be delayed, and support for any provider may break without notice when that provider changes its formats or endpoints. Automatic updates deliver new versions when you accept them; you may decline updates or pin any release you prefer.

Acceptable use

Do not use the software to circumvent a provider's rate limits, quotas, or terms; to access accounts you do not own; or to misrepresent the source of usage data. The account-switching feature exists to let a person move between accounts they legitimately hold — it is not a mechanism for pooling or reselling capacity, and using it that way may violate your provider's terms.

Disclaimer of warranty

The software is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement. The project does not warrant that the software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any number it displays is accurate.

Limitation of liability

In no event shall the authors or copyright holders be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability — whether in an action of contract, tort, or otherwise — arising from, out of, or in connection with the software or its use. This includes, without limitation, lost work, lost quota, missed alerts, provider account actions, or decisions made on the basis of displayed estimates.

This website is provided for information about the project. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience and the project is not responsible for their content or practices. Any optional analytics on this website are described on the privacy page and can be declined.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the software changes. Material changes will be reflected here with a revised date, and the history of every change is publicly visible in the repository. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
